ELC seniors run strong at Lakes meet

CHEROKEE - Estherville Lincoln Central's seniors gave it all they had, but ELC finished back in the pack with a sixth-place finish at the Lakes Conference Cross Country Meet on Tuesday.

However, no ELC runner was able to crack the top 14 places to earn all-conference honors.

Rachel Bates paced ELC with a 22nd place finish in 17:43.84 while Heather Natterstad placed 28th in 18:11.59 and Brianna Enerson placed 29th in 18:14.78 on the 4-kilometer course.

"The girls did run one of their better meets," said ELC coach Tina Burton. "our first three girls were our seniors so they wanted to go out strong. Coleen Humble also ran her best race of the season.
