ARMSTRONG - North Union just couldn't stop Hartley-Melvin-Sanborn's ground attack. The Hawks rushed for 372 yards in a 35-12 victory in the Warriors' final home game of the season on Friday.

HMS took a little while to get started, but the Hawks' Hunter Kuehl broke free with a 52-yard run with 2:12 remaining in the first quarter. The PAT made it 7-0.

North Union scored next when Jacob Braddock connected with Braden Ortman on a 55-yard strike with 11:52 left in the second quarter. North Union's PAT kick went wide as the hosts trailed 7-6.

Kuehl broke through the North Union defense late in the first half, this time on a 76-yard jaunt with just 50 seconds left on the clock. The PAT was good as the Warriors trailed 14-6 at the break.

HMS continued its ground game in the second half.

The Warriors scored once in the third quarter as Aric Runge connected on a 27-yard strike. The two-point conversion failed. The hosts trailed 28-12 after three quarters.

North Union finished with 86 yards on the ground despite Cody Runksmeier rushing for 100 yards on 18 carries. However Runge had minus-26 yards on eight carries. Braddock carried the ball four times for 13 yards.
