LAKE PARK - North Union struggled to score for a 10-minute stretch to start the second half.

By the time the Warriors finally began to put the ball in the hole, it was too little, too late as Harris-Lake Park won 48-39 on Friday.

The Wolves' Noreen Morrow torched North Union for 28 points including 12-of-14 from the free throw line.

"We just didn't box her out," said Warrior coach Merle Tigges.

North Union led 11-9 after one quarter, but then trailed 22-14 in the second before rallying to take a one-point lead at half-time on Madison Irmiter's only basket of the night at the buzzer, 23-22.

But North Union then scored just three points in the third quarter as H-LP took a 32-25 lead.

Sarah Rolling led the Warriors with 10 points while Dena Looft and Alexis Valvick each had seven. Aurora Oliver scored six points, Madison Bollig had five and Peyton Oleson and Irmiter each had two.

North Union (5-3 overall) returns to action in 2014 at home against West Hancock on Monday, Jan. 6. The Warriors then travel to West Bend-Mallard on Jan. 7.
