The Emmet County Board of Supervisors Tuesday set March 11 as the public hearing date for the county budget and discussed a number of other items.
The board also approved a contract with Northwest Iowa Planning and Development Commission to update county ordinances.
Noting that it's the board's responsibility to have the ordinances codified, county attorney Doug Hansen said he could assist in the process.
"The review is just to see if there's revision," Hansen said.
Leesa McNeil, district court administrator, Third Judicial District, and David Forsyth, Emmet County magistrate, came before the board to request an upgrade of the magistrate court room. Auditor Mikki Erickson, supervisor Tim Schumacher, magistrate David Forsyth and custodian Tom Egeland will serve on the committee.
The board also approved mowing quotes, with Joey Manwarren of Wallingford getting the Wallingford bid; Picht Law Service of Armstrong getting the Estherville, Gruver and Annex bids; and Gaylen and Susan Zeman of Ringsted getting the Armstrong and Ringsted bids.
The board also approved the 2013 weed commissioner's report.
