ESTHERVILLE - Memorial services for Corbett N. Bradeen, 81, of Estherville will be held at 2 p.m. Wednesday, March 5, 2014, at Henry-Olson Funeral Chapel in Estherville with Pastor Chad Ensz and Pastor Kennen Barber Ensz officiating. A memorial gathering one hour prior to the service at the funeral home only on Wednesday. Military rites will be held by VFW Post 3388 and American Legion 91 of Estherville.
Interment will be held at a later date at Oak Hill Cemetery in Estherville.
He died Friday, Feb. 28, 2014, at Rosewood Manor in Estherville.
Corbett N. Bradeen, the son of Lyle and Alice (Hoffmeyer) Bradeen, was born June 18, 1932 in River Falls, Wis.
As a child, Corbett lived in Jackson, Minn. and then moved to Estherville. He received his education and graduated from Estherville High School in 1950. Corbett served in the United States Army during the Korean Conflict.
In April of 1955 he was united in marriage to Alice Book at the Presbyterian Church in Estherville. Following their marriage, the couple made their home in Estherville. They had three children - Julie, Steve and Lisa. Corbett worked for the Estherville Creamery and spent 30 years at the Estherville Post Office. For hobbies, Corbett enjoyed gardening, woodworking and coin collecting. Corbett also served on the Emmet County Public Employees Credit Union for many years.
Left to cherish Corbett's memory are his wife, Alice Bradeen, of Estherville; children, Lisa Morales and her husband, Al, of Bettendorf, and their children, Austin and Alex; Julie Bradeen of Estherville and Steve's children, Heather (Benjamin) Winterfeld of Ames and their son Solomon and Andrea Bradeen of Ringsted.
