Clayton and Gjerde earn league honors

Two Estherville Lincoln Central players earned honorable mention all-conference.

Junior Caitlyn Clayton and sophomore Carson Gjerde received the honors.

Clayton led ELC in scoring with 198 points, an average of 9.9 per game. She was second on the team in rebounding with 102 boards, an average of 5.1 per game. She also was second in steals with 37 and led the team in blocks with 19.

Gjerde scored 154 points this season, an average of 7.3 per game. She led ELC in assists with 29 and steals with 43. She also had 12 blocked shots.

The Midgets were 1-20 on the season and 1-13 in the conference.

Western Christian finished 14-0 in league play and went on to win a third straight Class 2A state title.
