The Estherville Lincoln Central Board of Education Monday held a public hearing and approved a budget of $28,183,722 for the 2014-15 school year.
The budget assumes a mil levy of $16.6970 per $1,000 valuation.
The budget was one of three scenarios with which the board was presented. Superintendent Tara Paul said the adopted budget included a voter-approved increase in the physical plant and equipment levy. The approved budget carries a mil levy of .20 less than the published anticipated budget, Paul said.
With an expected beginning fund balance of $9,089,021, major revenues include property taxes, $5,465,994 and state foundation aid, $8,745,931.
Major expenses are instruction, $11,683,055; noninstructional programs, $1,650,000; plant operation and maintenance, $1,642,000; debt service, $994,976; instructional staff support, $950,000; building administration, $850,000; AEA support, $641,958; student transportation, $640,000; and general administration, $483,000.
