ESTHERVILLE - Mass of Christian Burial for William Augustine, 77, of Estherville will be held at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday, March 25, 2014, at St. Patrick's Catholic Church in Estherville with Monsignor Roger Augustine as Celebrant and Monsignor Michael Sernett as Con-Celebrant. Visitation will be from 5-7 p.m. Monday at Henry-Olson Funeral Chapel in Estherville with Vigil Service at 7 p.m. Interment will be at St. Patrick's Catholic Cemetery in Estherville.

He died Friday, March 21, 2014, at Good Samaritan Society in Estherville.

William Augustine, the son of Joseph and Alvina (Schilmoeller) Augustine, was born Nov. 12, 1936, in Geddes, S.D. and moved with his family at the age of five to Remsen.

He attended school in Remsen and graduated from Remsen St. Mary High School.

On Dec. 17, 1966, Bill was united in marriage to Roberta Grabenbauer in Marshalltown. After their marriage, the couple moved to Estherville. Bill was employed at Kent Feeds in Estherville for 35 years and was plant manager for many years. Roberta passed away June 9, 1995. On March 27, 1999, he was united in marriage to JoAnn Tostenson in Estherville. The couple continued to make their home in Estherville. In his leisure time Bill enjoyed golf, following his Hawkeyes, his trips to Texas and spending time with family and friends.

He was an active member of St. Patrick's Catholic Church in Estherville. He was a member of Knights of Columbus for 59 years and obtained his 4th Degree status. He served in the National Guard for six years, achieving the rank of Staff Sergeant.

Left to cherish Bill's memory are his wife, JoAnn, of Estherville; his children, Scott Augustine of Charles City; Michael Augustine of Des Moines; Charles (Staci) Augustine of Waterloo; Vicki (Ozzie) Sotelo of Brighton, Colo.; step-children, Laura (Steve) Zabel of Lakewood, Colo.; Cindy (Bill) Wuller of Swansea, Ill.; Chuck (Sue) Tostenson of Estherville; Gary (Sherri) Tostenson of Gardner, Kan.; 13 grandchildren, Jeremy Augustine, Amber Flanagan, Payton and Nick Augustine, Rachel Augustine, Teirnan and Taivin Augustine, Cassie and Baylee Sotelo; step-grandchildren, Tracy Tostenson, Amy Deim, Beth Tostenson and Carissa Melvin; several great-grandchildren and siblings, Roger, Wayne, Tom, Dick, Dan, Mike Augustine, Delores Kunz and Clarice Mousel.

Preceding Bill in death are his first wife, Roberta; his parents and siblings, Jerry and Ralph Augustine and two infant sisters. Online condolences may be sent to
