The Iowa Lakes Men's and Women's Golfers hosted their invitational held at Brooks Golf Club in Okoboji on Tuesday.
The Laker men finished with a 312 as they continued their good play from this past weekend. North Iowa Area Community College won with a 301 with Southwestern and Hawkeye Technical College also at the meet.
Austin Sweeney led the Lakers with a 76 as he finished tied for fifth overall. Harley Nelson shot a 78 to place seventh while Jordan Sogard and Blake Orton each shot 79s to tie for eighth place.
Non-counting score was Joe Dakken with an 81 finishing in a tie for 11th place. Individually, Nathan Kyle from Lake Park fired a round of 75 to finish in a tie for third place.
"Nate played really well today and has been putting a lot of hard work in and the results were there today," said Iowa Lakes coach Andy Soper. "The big thing on the day was we need to continue to work on limiting the big number on a hole."
For the women, Cassie Galm from Spencer came in with a 95 placing her in a tie for 12th place. Tressa DeBoer from Hartley shot a 97 for 14th place.
The Laker women traveled to the Otter Creek Golf Course in Ankeny for the first day of the two-day Region XI Tournament.
The Laker men will play next Monday at Cold Water Golf Club in Ames.
