LAKE PARK - North Union's Parker Oleson led the Warriors to winning the final Cornbelt Conference Meet of the year on Monday, an 18-hole event hosted by Lake Park.
Oleson shot the low score of the day, a 79, defeating runner-up Jordan Kyle of Harris-Lake Park by four strokes.
Oleson along with teammate Colton Nicoson, who shot a 91, earned first team all-conference honors for their efforts.
Nathan Eaton and Alex Krantz both shot 95s as the Warriors finished with a team score of 360 while Harris-lake Park won the day with a 356. Non-counting scores for North Union were a 99 by Jacob Braddock and a 107 by Tyler Quinn.
However, results in the Cornbelt are cumulative through six meets held throughout the year, lending the conference champion to the Warriors.
Harris-Lake Park's performance at Monday's tournament moved them into second place in the final Cornbelt standings while GTRA placed third followed by West Bend-Mallard, Corwith-Wesley-Luverne and Clay Central-Everly.
GT/RA shot a 369 in their final day and had its top four players earn all-conference honors. Ethan Peterson earned first team honors as he shot an 89. Josh Petrick shot a 91, Kyle Dalen a 94 and Jake Wegner a 95 as they all earned second team all-conference.
Non-counting scores for the Titans were a 101 by Nick Josephson and a 108 by Nate Harris.
North Union defeats WB-M
WEST BEND - North Union won a dual against West Bend-Mallard on Tuesday, 178-201. The Warriors swept medalist honors as Parker Oleson shot a 37 and Alex Krantz a 44. Other counting scores were a 46 by Nathan Eaton and a 51 by Colton Nicoson. Non-counting scores were a 52 by Tyler Quinn and a 55 by Jacob Braddock.
GTRA plays at Okoboji Invite
ARNOLDS PARK - Graettinger-Terril/Ruthven-Ayrshire played shorthanded at the Okoboji Invitational this past Saturday with just four golfers competing. The Titans finished with a 402. Nick Josephson led GT/RA with a 95, Ethan Petersen shot a 96, Nate Harris a 103 and Jake Wegner a 108.
GTRA is third at county meet
GRAETTINGER - Windy conditions and the absence of a couple players led Graettinger-Terril/Ruthven-Ayrshire to third place in the count meet on Friday, May 2. Emmetsburg swept medalist honors as Mike Pugh shot a 40 and Luke Jackson a 43. The E'Hawks won with a 172 while West Bend-Mallard shot a 193 and GT/RA a 205.
Ethan Petersen led the Titans with a 46, Nick Josephson shot a 50, Kyle Dalen a 52 and Andrew Aeilts a 57. Non-counting score was a 62 by Nate Harris.
