Hardman earns fifth in 100-meter dash

DES MOINES - The North Union Girls Track Team finished up the season with two events at the Class 1A State Track and Field Meet last Saturday.

Sophomore MaKayla Hardman provided the Warriors with their one medal of the 2014 meet as she finished fifth in the 100-meter dash finals. She finished the event in 13.21 seconds. Montezuma sophomore Katie Maschmann had the wining time of 12.42 seconds.

Earlier in the day Hardman had helped the sprint medley relay team to a 13th place finish. Senior Morgan Rahm opened the event followed by freshman Kyarsten Mullen, Hardman and freshman Olivia Marlow.

The quartet clocked in at 1:55.94-less than a second from the eighth-place medal time while North Linn won the 1A event in 1:50.87.
