IOWA CITY - Spirit Lake-Okoboji's Olivia Rohlk and Natalie Delaney finished in eighth place in the state Class 1A Tennis Doubles Tournament this past week.
Meanwhile teammates Ryan Petievich and Hanna Schoning came up short of the medal round.
Rohlk and Delaney won their first-round match 7-5, 6-4 against Keokuk's Lakyn Boltz and Alexis Kemp, but lost in the quarterfinals 6-2, 6-3 to Dubuque Wahlert's Caroline Ott and Elizabeth Ott.
In the consolation quarterfinals, Rohlk and Delaney won 6-2, 6-2 over Dubuque Wahlert's Audrey Hinz and Katie Henricks, but then lost in the consolation semifinal 7-5, 4-6, 1-0(7) to Waterloo Columbus' Gabby Greco and Maggie Weber.
In Friday afternoon's seventh-place match, the SL-O duo faced Ashley Maley and Kayla Reusche of Waverly-Shell Rock. The tightly-contested match ended up with a W-SR win, 7-6(3), 4-6, 1-0 (7).
Petievich and Schoning lost their first-round match 6-2, 6-3 to Creston/OM's Audrey Fyock and Jenna Taylor. The duo came up with a consolation first-round win, 6-, 7-5, 1-0(8) over Chelsea Poesch and Emma Friedly of Waverly-Shell Rock.
But in the consolation quarterfinal, Petievich and Schoning fell 5-7, 6-2, 1-0(2) to Lily Hamilton and Jackie Johnson of Grinnell.
