ESTHERVILLE - Funeral services for Ollie S. Fry, 94, of Estherville will be held at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday, July 9, 2014 at Estherville Lutheran Church in Estherville with Pastor David Bergstrom officiating. Visitation will be from 5-7 p.m. Tuesday at Henry-Olson Funeral Home in Estherville. Interment will be at High Lake Cemetery in rural Wallingford.

She died Friday, July 4, 2014 at the Good Samaritan Society in Estherville.

Ollie S. Fry, the daughter of Peter and Evva (Haines) Aanonson, was born March 26, 1920, in Wakopa Manitoba, Canada.

Ollie received her education in the Estherville grade school, Halfa High School, Estherville Junior College, Drake University and Iowa State Teachers College in Cedar Falls. She taught 31 years in Emmet County Schools and in Dolliver and Gruver Elementary Schools.

On Aug. 26, 1945 she was united in marriage to Robert W. Fry at the Immanuel Evangelical Lutheran Church south of Gruver. She was active in many organizations there. In 1964 the family moved from a farm southwest of Ringsted to a farm northeast of Estherville, becoming members of the Estherville Lutheran Church. She served as president of the Estherville Lutheran Church Women's group. She taught Sunday School and Bible School and served on several boards. Ollie especially enjoyed Bible Study and reading and writing. Her family, church and her teaching were the most important things in her life.

Robert and Ollie retired and moved into Estherville, in 1986. Ollie continued to be active in many church groups and she enjoyed baking and gardening. She was a great hostess and entertained all visitors with coffee and great cookies, bars and cakes. Ollie moved to Good Samaritan Center in 2011, where she resided until her passing.

Left to cherish Ollie's memory are her daughter, Sherilyn Schreier, and husband, W. Terrance, of Boulder, Colo.; daughter-in-law, Nancy Fry, of Estherville; grandchildren Angela Johnston and her friend, Gordon Dvorak, of Dallas Center, Carrie Kading and her husband, Khye, of Grimes, Sarah Foley and her friend, Jess Schwintz, of Lubbock, Texas and Robert Schreier of Keizer, Ore. and his friend, Maddie Kuhn, of Paris, Texas; great-grandchildren Connor Foley and Rory Kading; a brother, Orin Aanonson Sr., and his wife, Sharon, of Estherville and many nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Peter and Evva Aanonson; an infant daughter, Janice Marie Fry; her husband, Robert Fry; her son, Stephen Fry, and her sisters, Pearl Fry and Verna McGregor. Online condolences may be sent to
