FOREST CITY - Forest City's Jeff Anderson limited North Union to four hits as the Indians defeated the Warriors 5-1 on Wednesday.
Forest City built a 5-0 lead with two runs in the first inning on three hits, a Warrior error and a hit-by-pitch. The Indians added three runs in the third with a walk, two singles, a double and a triple.
North Union had a runner on third base in the fourth inning when Corey Vaske drew a one-out walk, went to second on an Indian error and to third when Logan Hellman reached on a fielder's choice. But a pop up ended the threat.
The Warriors finally broke threw in the sixth inning with a leadoff double by Colin Runksmeier and one-out RBI single by Vaske.
Vaske took the loss as he struck out eight batters, walked one and gave up nine hits. Four of Forest City's five runs were earned.
At the plate, Vaske was 2-2 with an RBI while Colin Runksmeier was 1-3 and Cody Runksmeier was 1-4.
