Thumbs up to everyone who turned our for Wholly Grape & Ale Friday night at the Estherville Golf Course. Proceeds go toward supplies and equipment at Avera Holy Family Hospital to help make for better and more comfortable patient care.

Thumbs up to the Emmet County Wellness Coalition as it planned for summer events this past Tuesday.

Thumbs up to Edna and Terry Lutzow as they plan the H.U.G. Puppet Spring Show 7 p.m. Friday, April 17 at Roosevelt Auditorium. The show will feature music of Go Fish, Toby Mac, Building 429 and Citizen Way. A ministry of Estherville United Methodist Church, kids helping out with the show include Alex Murray, Savannah Dare, Corey Grange, Ethan Masters, Emma Ross, Maggie Domek, Carson Grange, Kaylyn Domek, Quimby Ross, Ava Mitchell and Ireland Mitchell.

Thumbs up to advisory board members who came to the annual advisory board meeting at Iowa Lakes Community College. These industry professionals lend their expertise to Iowa Lakes programs to make them the best they can possibly be.

Thumbs down to those who decided it would be fun to damage the shelter at Lincoln Park. This park is an asset to the community and many people have worked to make it a place for all ages. The vandals' actions disrespects the community's efforts.

Thumbs up to the Estherville Public Library for offering the program If Barns Could Talk from 10:30-11:30 this morning. We encourage anyone interested in the legacy or Iowa's barns to attend.

Thumbs up to RSVP Advisory Board members who are meeting noon Monday at Iowa Lakes Community College.

Thumbs up to all the businesses and industries participating in Career Day 9:45 a.m. Tuesday at Iowa Lakes Community College in Emmetsburg. This is a good event for high-school students trying to make a career choice.

Thumbs up to author Steven Michael who will have a reading and signing 10 a.m. to noon next Saturday, April 18 at the Estherville Area Chamber of Commerce at 620 First Ave. S. in Estherville.

Thumbs up to the Many Voices Choir for its fine performance at Immanuel Lutheran Church in Estherville Thursday evening.
