GRAETTINGER - Funeral services for Lillian Hanson, 103, of Graettinger, will be held 10:30 a.m., Saturday, June 17, 2017, at Bethel Lutheran Church in Graettinger with Pastor Chris Lang officiating. Interment will be at Swan Lake Township Cemetery, rural Gruver. She departed this life on Monday, June 12, 2017, at the Good Samaritan Society in Estherville.

Visitation will be one hour prior to the service at the church only on Saturday

Lillian R. Hanson, the daughter of Bert and Marie (Stennes) Anderson was born May 19, 1914, in Ringsted.

She received her education in the Ringsted schools.

On Feb. 5, 1933, she was united in marriage to Howard Hanson at Sioux Falls, S.D. The couple farmed in Emmet County before moving to a farm near East Chain, Minn., later they returned to Emmet County and then moved into the town of Graettinger in 1962. She was known as the class mother of the Graettinger High School Class of 1954. Lillian was an avid golfer, enjoyed playing cards, and spending time with her family. Howard died in 1992. She was a member of Bethel Lutheran Church.

Left to cherish Lillian's memory are her two sons Harvey and his wife, Marilyn of Armstrong and Harlan and his wife, Barbara of Orlando, Fla.; son-in-law, Joe Raffety of Fort Wayne, Ind.; seven grandchildren, Eric Hanson, Craig Hanson, Curtis Hanson, Amy Lowe, Anita Ford, Leslie Hembree and Mary Jo Hardiman and 15 great-grandchildren. Also surviving Lillian are her dear friends Dan, Barb and Lowell Jacobsen.

She was preceded in death by her parents, husband; daughter, Mary Alice Raffety and her siblings: Harry, Melvin, Bertle, Elmer, and Mildred Booth.
