SPENCER - While not quite at full strength, the Estherville Lincoln Central Girls Cross Country Team gave its best effort on a cold day at the Lakes Conference Meet on Tuesday.

"The girls' team is still battling some injuries and illness, so I expect them to run better next week at regionals," said ELC coach Connie Humble. "Taylor Morris had one of her best times of the year, Riley Christoffer pushed hard after being injured and Laura Humble had a nice kick at the end of her race."

Nevaeh Armstrong led ELC's effort, as she placed 20th in 22 minutes, 26.97 seconds. Morris placed 22nd in 22:44.70, Christoffer placed 24th in 23:14.21, Humble placed 30th in 23:54.32 and Amara Heinrichs placed 31st in 23:55.56. Also, Adrienne Rosfjord placed 34th in 24:13.39 and Vanessa Vedder placed 43rd in 25:21.15.
