Jodi Rezac-Bonner and Chelsea McAninch are among a group of friends hosting a benefit supper and silent auction at the VFW Sept. 22 from 5 p.m. to 1 a.m. for the Ryan and Amy Van Wyhe family. The VanWyhe's lost their home on North Seventh Street to an Aug. 15 fire that was a total loss. The couple had made the house their home for nearly a decade for their six children, and had embarked on an extensive remodel of the older four-square home during the summer, including the new porch which is where the fire was said to have started.

While the family had homeowner's insurance, they say the insurance does not cover the home's contents.

Supper will be served from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m. and the event will include music until 1 a.m.
