ELC honored with three All-State speech invitations Two performing, one non-performing group invited to All-State in Ames

After earning six "I" ratings and one "II" rating at state competition, Estherville Lincoln Central's speech & theatre departments found out late Monday that two of their entries would be performing at All-State in Ames and one was invited as a non-performing honoree.

The one-act play, Shakespeare's "Taming of the Shrew," performed by Justin Christensen, Bryan Peterson, Angie Palmer, Cole Danner, Ethan Masters, Winter Williams, Brendan Finley, Taylor Myers, Cullen Bixby, Blake Bixby, Braxton Shryock, Yahir Diaz, Ahries Nissen, Anthony Rivera, Ehren Masters, Ely Jones, Octavio Diaz, with crew members Lena McCoy, Cora Brant and Carly Grange will perform at 11:25 a.m. at Fisher Theater in the Iowa State Center at Iowa State University. The ensemble acting piece "Let's Pretend this Never Happened," by Jenny Lawson, performed by Justin Christensen and Shiloh Kirchner, will perform at 3:14 p.m. in the Alumni Building.

Saige Hengeveld and Ely Jones were honored for their performance in the ensemble acting piece, "Anna and August," by Don Zolidis, and invited as a non-performing ensemble.

There are four places to purchase wristbands at ISU: the first floor lobby of the Scheman building, Alumni Centers, and City Auditorium all day, and the SE dour of CY Stephens from 7:30-8:45. This band will allow entrance to all buildings for the entire day. Do not remove the wristband even for performances. If you lose the wristband during the day, you will have to purchase a new one to enter the buildings. To help the spectators enjoy the day, they may buy wristbands from the ELC High School office. Cost of wristbands is $8. Deadline to purchase tickets from the school is Wednesday Feb 19 at noon.


Programs for the participants are free. For spectators, they may be purchased in the Scheman Building, Alumineter, and the City Auditorium


All-State merchandise will be sold in the Scheman Building in the first floor lobby.


The All-State photographer will be available in the Stagedoor of the Scheman Building throughout the day.


Concessions are available on the second floor of the Scheman Building

Opening/Closing Ceremonies

All participants must sit on the main floor of Stephens Auditorium for both Opening and closing ceremonies. They will be checked by door individuals via the wristband. Spectators should sit in the upper balconies for closing.
