Estherville PD asking for public’s help – Interviews continue in police investigation

ESTHERVILLE –According to an Estherville Police Department press release, on Thursday, Nov. 29, at approximately 4:44 p.m., a 9-year-old female reported an alleged abduction and physical assault. An officer met with the child and obtained information and police began interviewing potential witnesses.

These interviews continue, however, the investigation has been unable to determine the exact circumstances and events during that time period. To further the investigation, police are asking members of the public who may have been in the vicinity of the Estherville middle school, or the intersection of First Street and Central Avenue between 4:30 p.m. and 4:45 p.m. on that date to contact the Estherville Police Department, (7612) 362-2622, if they saw anything suspicious.

At this time, the alleged incident appears to be an isolated incident and law enforcement is not aware of any impending danger to the community, however, law enforcement is conducting heightened patrol in the school areas.
