County Nature Center Foundation plans banquet
The Emmet County Nature Center Foundation put final touches on the March 29 banquet that will help raise funds for the new Nature Center at Wolden Campground.
Doors will open at the Elks Lodge in Estherville at 5:30 p.m. with serving to begin at approximately 7 p.m. The event will conclude at approximately 10 p.m.
One of the evening’s highlights will be the live auction featuring a conservation print of Old Rivals I from the Old Rivals series by internationally renowned wildlife artist Larry Zach.
Emmet County Conservation Board Director Eric Anderson said the print, number nine of only 10 in existence, has an estimated value of $3,000. Zach is also generously donating conservation prints of Old Rivals II and Old Rivals III over the next two years.
In each print in the Old Rivals series, rivalries are pictured, such as two bucks, a John Deere and a Farmall, and stickers from Iowa State University and the University of Iowa.
Featured silent auction items include an Arrowwood Lodge package and a trip to the Redlin Art Gallery in Watertown, S.D.
Games will also be held following the banquet, with prizes including a day of upland hunting with Al Blum, a day on the water with Bill Leonard, duck hunting with Rick Kilpatrick, and a Sportsman’s Dream Print game board by Larry Zach.
General raffle prizes include special packages with the Regional Wellness Center, special tickets to Adventureland from KILR, and gift certificates to Racine’s for Him and Her.
Tickets to the Emmet County Nature Center Foundation Banquet are $25 and include a two-meat buffet with all the trimmings plus a full evening of entertainment. To order a ticket, call the Nature Center office at 867-4422 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Monday through Friday.
