PERL defeated 158-96
Voters in the Armstrong-Ringsted Community School District Tuesday defeated by a vote of 158 to 96 the Playground Equipment Resource Levy (PERL).
The levy was to be used for school or community recreation projects, including playgrounds, parks, and swimming pools. The Armstrong-Ringsed Community School District Board of Education had met with both the Armstrong and the Ringsted city councils to determine where funds generated from the levy could be spent.
The levy was expected to generate approximately $13,000 a year for the district. Suggested uses for money raised for the levy have included the new swimming pool in Armstrong and playground equipment at Ringsted Elementary.
