Armstrong Pool benefit concert May 4
So do you want to have a nice family outing the first Sunday of May?
There’s a great one for you in Armstrong.
Piano and voice students of Randy Yackle will perform a benefit concert Sunday, May 4 at the Armstrong Community Center. The event begins with a potato bake meal at 11:30 a.m. followed by a voice and piano concert at 1 p.m. The concert will feature local students from ages 5 and up. A free-will donation will be taken with all proceeds going to benefit the Armstrong pool fund.
Armstrong area students performing include Ryanna Paulson, Avery Laabs, Kyarsten Mullen, Peyton Oleson, Marissa Neusch, Becky Cronk, Dakota Farquar, and Natalie Henriksen. The concert is a way that Yackle and his students wanted to help out with the pool project.
“I’ve been so lucky because the Armstrong community has supported my studio,” Yackle said of his studio in Fairmont, Minn. Yackle estimates a third of his students are from the Armstrong area.
Yackle said the concert will also help the students who benefit from being able to perform in front of people.
“It benefits the people but it benefits the students too,” Yackle said. “They all really want to do it,” he said of his students. “The atmosphere should just really be fun.”
The pool committee has raised $198,500 to date toward its goal of $300,000. The $800,000 pool project is scheduled for completion on June 23.
