A-R board adjusts terms

Under a state mandate to hold elections in only odd-numbered years, like other school districts, the Armstrong-Ringsted Community School District Tuesday reduced one term and extended another.

As a result, Marti Kindrick will be running for a one-year term while fall while Howard Taylor’s term will be extended to 2011. Current president Rod Foster will be running for a three-year term this fall.

Betsey Ulrich and Paul Stevens will run in 2009 and Rod Foster, Kindrick, and Howard Taylor will run in 2011.

In other business Tuesday, the board hired Kurt Fothergill as head boys basketball coach and Tom Elliott as head girls track coach.

The board held a closed session for a superintendent evaluation and approved contracts for Randy Collins as superintendent and Matt Berninghaus as principal.
