Fair queen candidates are sought
Girls who will be between ages 16-21 by the time the Iowa State Fair rolls around in August are eligible to compete for this year’s Emmet County Fair Queen.
Queen candidates should be involved in a service or organization in Emmet County. That could include 4-H, a youth group or church group.
Queen candidates will interview with judges at Sleep Inn & Suites in Estherville Sunday, July 20 and again for the final crowning during the fair on Thursday, July 24.
Interested candidates should call Kelsey White at 362-8568 or e-mail her at email@example.com.
All queen candidates will receive a $500 scholarship from Iowa Lakes Community College. The Emmet County Fair Board will pay the expenses for the Emmet County Fair Queen to go on to compete at the Iowa State Fair.
The runner-up will be named Emmet County Fair Princess and both the queen and princess will appear in parades and other public events throughout the year.
