Emmet County Fair Queen contest set

Nine contestants will vie for Emmet County Fair Queen and Princess 7:30 p.m. Thursday in the Ingham Lake Building at the Emmet County Fairgrounds in Estherville.

The 2007 Fair Queen was Amanda Kropf with Jennie Mart serving as Princess.

Following are the contestants’ biographies.

Sarah Chrestiansen

Sarah is the 18-year-old daughter of Bruce and Lori Chrestiansen of Estherville. She recently graduated from Estherville Lincoln Central High School where she was involved in choir, speech, drama, tennis and the ELC Student Council. She is also the secretary of the Twelve Mile Lakers 4-H Club and the president of the County Council. Sarah also helps with the Emmet County Relay for Life. This fall she plans on attending the University of South Dakota.

Heather Enerson

Heather is the 18-year-old daughter of Arvin and Anna Enerson of Estherville. She graduated in 2008 from Estherville Lincoln Central High School. Heather is a member of the Emmet County High Flyers 4-H Club and the Praise Team at Crossroads Church in Estherville.

Holly Enerson

Holly is the 16-year-old daughter of Arvin and Anna Enerson of Estherville. She attends Estherville Lincoln Central High School. Holly is a member of the Emmet County High Flyers 4-H Club and is also a member of the Crossroads Church youth group.

Graye Farnum

Graye is the 16-year-old daughter of Dr. David and Darcie Farnum of Estherville. She attends Estherville Lincoln Central High School. Graye is involved in many extracurricular activities including president of Estherville Experts 4-H Club, County Council, dance, purple cord, the little brother and sister program and show choir.

Jennie Mart

Jennie is the 18-year-old daughter of Mike and LuAnn Mart of Estherville. She recently graduated from Graettinger/Terril High School where she was involved in volleyball, softball, student council and National Honor Society. Jennie is also a member of the Estherville Experts 4-H Club, the Graettinger/Terril FFA and County Council.

Molly Martens

Molly is the 16-year-old daughter of Mike and Phyllis Martens of Estherville. She attends Estherville Lincoln Central High School. Molly is a member of the Ellsworth- Go-Getters 4-H Club, a member of the County Council and she belongs to the First Christian Church where she serves on the junior diaconate.

Caitlin McConnell

Caitlin is the 18-year-old daughter of Bob and Lisa McConnell of Armstrong. She recently graduated from Armstrong-Ringsted High School and will be attending Iowa State University this fall. Caitlin is involved in her County Council and the Jack Creek Feeders 4-H club.

Caitlin Paulsen

Caitlin is the 18-year-old daughter of Gerald and Patti Paulsen of Armstrong. She graduated in 2008 from Armstrong Ringsted High School. Caitlin is a member of the Iowa Lake 4-Hers, Emmet County Relay for Life and Nazareth Lutheran Church.

Alyssa Sharar

Alyssa is the 16-year-old daughter of Ken and Pam Sharar of Estherville. She attends Estherville Lincoln Central High School. Alyssa is a member of the Emmet County High Flyers 4-H Club, dance and is a member of her church’s youth group.
