By Staff | Aug 5, 2008

Estherville Police said early Monday the purple and white 1999 Chevrolet pick-up truck involved in the kidnapping-sexual assault case in Estherville was found abandoned.

Captain Brent Shatto of the Estherville Police Department said the suspect remains at large and is considered armed and dangerous.

Police again caution the public not to attempt to apprehend the suspect if seen in the area.

Manuel Sanchez Conde aka Ricardo Sanchez, 28, is the suspect involved in a complaint by a female who was held against her will.

In initial accounts, she had said Sanchez Conde, an ex-boyfriend, assaulted her for nearly three hours.

“The warrants which had been issued for Sanchez Conde are active and will remain so until he is apprehended,” Shatto said.

The suspect has been charged by police with second degree kidnapping, a Class B felony, and aggravated domestic assault, an aggravated misdemeanor.

Shatto said the vehicle was returned to its rightful owner.

The police captain reminds citizens to call the police immediately with any information about this suspect or his location. Dial 911 or 712-362-3515.
