Estherville Police warn residents of scam

By Staff | Aug 29, 2008

On Aug. 27, the Estherville Police Department located an out-of-state company doing asphalt work. There were two reports in the area of substandard work done by this company.

The police department would like to warn residents that there are companies and individuals in the area that perform work whether it be paving, tree trimming, house and yard work. These types of individuals travel the United States and perform substandard work and usually over-price their work.

Police recommend that residents be familiar with or research any company that will be performing these services. There are numerous local businesses that perform these services and certainly treat customers fairly.

Contact the local law enforcement agency with any questions.
