Institutional advancement director named
A new Institutional Advancement Executive Director has been hired at Iowa Lakes Community College, pending board of trustees approval later this month.
Jolene Rogers has eight years of experience with Iowa Lakes and is currently the grants and development coordinator where she develops and implements projects for a large number of college offices. She also has experience in institutional research and has worked as a staff accountant in Spirit Lake and in community economic development in Floyd and Mitchell counties.
“I’m especially thankful for this opportunity to further promote Iowa Lakes programs and the college in a new way. I completed my associate degree at Iowa Lakes, just before my daughter enrolled. Iowa Lakes has been a ‘family tradition.’ All three of our children and both Tim and I earned degrees here,” said Rogers.
She knows the value of scholarships to students.
“Partnering with community members and business to provide scholarship funds and equipment for the outstanding education programs offered at Iowa Lakes will be a pleasure. I look forward to getting out into the communities and working with the foundation,” she said.
Rogers will lead fund-raising efforts for the college. The “President’s Circle” was initiated two years ago and involves area businesses and individuals. It is the largest fund-raising effort for Iowa Lakes. In addition, the annual “We Believe In Us” giving program incorporates many employees as well as area businesses. The majority of fund raising at the college focuses on scholarship dollars for students.
She will also work with area individuals and businesses/industries to establish long- term endowments and gifts to the college.
Rogers has an Associate in Arts degree from Iowa Lakes; a Bachelor of Science degree from Buena Vista University; and a Master’s degree in business administration from Southwest State University.
