No Big 10 Network … for now
Mediacom and Fox Cable negotiated an agreement at the end of August to bring the Big 10 Network to the area, but it will be a while yet before the network is available to area Mediacom subscribers.
Mediacom spokesperson Phyllis Peters in Des Moines said that a phased launch of the Big 10 Network will take place. The reason is that with necessary channel changes, it will take some time to to set up the new network.
“There are a number of factors,” Peters said. “We don’t have a definitive date at this time.”
Peters said communities with higher-concentrated populations were the first to receive the Big 10 Network. She said Mediacom’s Minnesota subscribers do not yet have the Big 10 Network.
“Mediacom is in the business of distributing programs that our customers want … there is a big variety of the programs that people want,” Peters explained. “This is really a Big 10 Network business decision.”
