Sheriff’s office seeking information

The Emmet County Sheriff’s Office is investigating two burglaries in Gruver and one in Ringsted that occurred sometime between late Thursday night and early Friday morning.

According to Emmet County Sheriff Mike Martens, at 6:14 a.m. Friday the sheriff’s office received a call from an employee reporting a burglary to the Great Lakes Elevator office in Gruver. Upon investigation, officers determined entry was forced into the office building through a door and once inside cash was removed.

Upon the conclusion of the investigation at the scene the sheriff’s deputy discovered that city hall in Gruver had been broken into. In this case entry was gained through a window that was removed and once inside an office door was kicked in but nothing was reported taken.

At 7:59 a.m. the Emmet County Sheriff’s Office received another call reporting a burglary to the Ringsted Telephone Office. Upon arrival at the scene by a sheriff’s deputy, the scene was processed for evidence and it was discovered that entry had been forced into the building through a door and cash was taken.

These three burglaries remain under investigation and citizens are encouraged to report anything in their communities that they believe is suspicious to law enforcement authorities.
