Funeral services for Eva Haukness, 95, of Estherville will be held 10:30 a.m., Monday, June 7, at the Good Samaritan Society Chapel in Estherville with Pastor Travis Rosinger officating. Interment will be at Evergreen Cemetery, Emmetsburg. She died Tuesday, June 1 at Spencer Municipal Hospital in Spencer.

Visitation will be held one hour prior to the service at the Good Samaritan Chapel.

Eva E. (Prentice) Haukness, the daughter of Frank and Grace Prentice was born Oct. 24, 1914, in rural Mallard.

Eva attended rural Mallard country schools.

On July 5, 1935, she was united in marriage to George Brown. Mr. Brown passed away June 3, 1946.

On Nov. 24, 1967, she was united in marriage to Louis Haukness. Eva has been a resident of the Good Samaritan Society in Estherville since May of 2004.

Eva was a member of Calvary Gospel Assembly in Estherville. For hobbies, Eva enjoyed baking, crocheting and reading.

Left to cherish Eva’s memory are her husband, Louis; her daughter, Judy Anderson Smith Mouw; granddaughter, Jamey French and her husband, Adam; great-grandchildren, Kailee French and Rylan French; and also by the residents and staff at the Estherville Good Samaritan Society.

She has been preceded in death by her parents; first husband, George; great-granddaughter, Aliyah French and also by eight brothers and sisters, Burt Prentice; William Prentice; Harry Prentice; Effie Cooklin; Glen Prentice; Martha Lowe; Maude Fell and Clarence Prentice.
