Dallmann to compete in Junior Miss Iowa

By Staff | Jun 9, 2010

Cheyenne Dallmann will vie with eight other contestants throughout Iowa for the title of Junior Miss Iowa this weekend in Davenport.

Dallmann, 12, named reigning Jr. Miss Kossuth-Winnebago last August, will compete in the casual wear, party dress, talent, interview and on-stage areas. For her talent she will do a clogging routine to Ice Cream Freeze by Miley Cyrus.

Already an “old-hand” at interviews in previous competitions, Dallman said she feels prepared in that area. She has answered previous interview questions about her community service project, volunteering ad Dinner Date and the Estherville Good Samaritan Society. Her personal goal is to help young people deal with problems of obesity.

Dallmann admits she is most nervous about the “on-stage” questions for which contestants really can’t prepare in advance.

Dallman’s favorite sport is softball. She has also danced competitively for a number of years, even at the national level. She credits her experience as one of the Denise Patin Dancers as the biggest reason that she feels confident to compete for the Junior Miss title.

Dallmann is the daughter of Marsha and Gary Dallman of Estherville.
