Chris Inman follows in father’s footsteps
Wherever you see Tom Inman, you’ll see Chris Inman.
It might be at Radio Shack/Inman Electric, the business Tom owns on South Sixth in Estherville. It could be at a family gathering. It could be at a Chamber outing or event.
Or it could be at a fire.
Chris joined the Estherville Fire Department as a full member June 2008. So far, he’s received his certification in Firefighter I & II and Haz Mat training.
“I’ve always been involved, being a fireman’s kid,” Chris said. And, like his father, Chris has the right reason for being a firefighter.
“We don’t do it for the money. We do it because it’s the right thing to do,” Chris said. “It’s a good thing to do, to know that you’re helping people in your community.”
With his uncle, grandfather and father all being firefighters, there’s also something of a family legacy to live up to as well.
And it’s helped Chris personally.
“It kind of opened up my eyes a little more about things I could and couldn’t do,” Chris said. “I don’t think I regret anything joining the fire department.”
