Iowa Lakes gets free use of sprayer

By Staff | Mar 24, 2011

Iowa Lakes Community College got a good deal on a lease for a sprayer for the college farm west of Emmetsburg Wednesday.

That’s the amount that Fast Manufacturing of Mountain Lake, Minn. agreed to lease a $32,000 sprayer to the college for – an amount to which the college board of trustees agreed to accept in special session Wednesday.

Board member Pat Kibbie made contact with Fast Manufacturing for the lease.

Board President Val Newhouse said the reason for the special meeting Wednesday was to have the sprayer for preplanting spraying. Newhouse said the company also sees the lease as an opportunity to introduce its products to students.

In addition to approving the lease, the board approved the retirement of Patricia Tedesco as educational counselor in Spencer effective June 30.

The board also approved the resignation of Steven Wise as Web development and design program instructor/coordinator effective May 31.
