Estherville Police investigate sexual assault case

The investigation of a sexual assault led to the arrest of an Estherville man.

According to a police report, the Estherville Department began an investigation Sunday in regards to a sexual assault that occurred on Saturday, April 9 in the home of an Estherville man. The juvenile victim and her mother reported to police that the victim had received a ride to Estherville from St. James, Minn. from the suspect.

The suspect took the victim and her friend to his residence where the alleged assault occurred.

The investigation revealed that the juvenile victim and the suspect had been conversing on the internet for some time, and eventually made arrangements for the suspect to go get the victim and her friend.

Following the investigation, Estherville Police took Jesse McIntyre, 20, of Estherville, into custody for sexual abuse in the third degree a Class C Felony. McIntyre was placed in the Emmet County Jail on Sunday, April 10, and was released on Monday, April 11 after posting a bond of $13,000 cash or surety.
