Ringsted area residents will be inconvenienced by road construction for a couple months.

According to the Emmet County Enginner’s office,

Heartland Asphalt, Inc. plans to begin work on A34 from county road N60, east through Ringsted to Highway 15. Construction is expected to begin around the first week of May.

The project includes survey staking, milling the existing asphalt surface, preparing the base, paving, and shoulder construction. A detour will be posted.

Depending on weather conditions, the project should be completed by mid-June. Access to fields and house drives along the route may be restricted during construction.

Heartland Aslphalt’s low bid of $693,503.48 for the project was approved on Feb. 15. The engineer’s estimate for the project was $740,000.

The Emmet County Engineer’s Office apologizes for any inconvenience, and requests your patience.
