The Patin dancers celebrate with ‘iDance’
SPIRIT?LAKE?- L’ecole la Danse, the area’s longest established and most awarded dance studio celebrates the performance of its’ 34th annual recital on Saturday, May 14. The annual show will be performed at the Sami Bedell Performing Arts Center, at the Spirit Lake High School on Saturday May 14; with a performance time of 2 p.m. Tickets are available at the door at a cost of $8 for all ages.
This year’s recital “iDance” features senior dancers making their final performance: Lindsey Arneson of Spirit Lake and Estherville dancers, Jessia Phillips and Taylor Heinrichs. The 2 1/2 hour show features dancers ages 3-adult from Estherville, Armstrong, Emmetsburg, Spirit Lake, Spencer, Ringsted, Graettinger, Cylinder, Milford, Gruver and Terril. The highlight of the show is the finale featuring 45 dancing dads and daughters.
“We have just completed a very successful competition dance season, with several National titles being earned in addition to numerous regional accolades. Even though, only 20 percent of our students choose to compete, it allows us the chance to have professionals judge our students and give us feedback on the strength of our program. Based on this years results we have continued to offer one of the areas most respected dance programs” commented Danie Juhl.
L’ecol la Danse was founded in 1977 by Denise Patin of Estherville. Danie Juhl joined the staff in 2008. The studio offers classes in ballet, tap, jazz, pointe, contemporary, lyrical, clog, pom for ages 3 and up. Adult zumba classes are also offered. For more information call 362-2062.
