Armstrong woman faces drug and traffic charges
Emmet County Sheriff Mike Martens reports that an Armstrong woman was arrested Monday afternoon on drug and traffic charges near Armstrong.
The arrest was the result of a traffic stop by a sheriff’s deputy who was responding to a call of a stranded vehicle that was occupied.
Upon arrival in the area, the deputy sheriff spotted the vehicle and observed it being driven by a person who was known to have a suspended license. Upon stopping the vehicle, the driver Jessica Weisbrod, 34, of Armstrong was also found to be in possession of drug paraphernalia.
Upon further investigation Weisbrod was placed under arrest and charged with possession of methamphetamine, possession of drug paraphernalia, operation of a motor vehicle without the owner’s consent, driving with a suspended license, no seatbelt and interference with official acts.
Weisbrod was booked into the Emmet County Jail and is being held on a bond of $5,000 cash on the charges stemming from this incident.
