Next Saturday, the Terril School will turn into the fictional Rydell High School as youth from Graettinger-Terril and Ruthven-Ayrshire perform “Grease.”
The musical, composed in 1971, tells the story of 10 working-class teenagers as they learn about love and heartbreak.
Director Marc Benedict said support has come from throughout the community.
The technology/industrial arts students helped with the building of flats for the set.
Custodians have been working on the wiring to turn the Terril School gym into an auditorium for the performances.
“We have a few things on loan from the Spencer Theater including some of the necessary sound bites,” said Benedict.
The cast includes 15 students from Graettinger-Terril and Ruthven-Ayrshire along with band director Tyler Pedersen as Johnny Casino.
Other cast members are Jaecy Hauge as Miss Lynch, Malsey Matthews as Patty Simcox, Ethan Eldridge as Eugene Florczyk, Alex Oleson as Jan, Caroline Koekenhoff as Marty, Grace Skattebo as Betty Rizzo, Tye Reiman as Doody, Jeff Kathman as Roger, Tyler Hauge as Kenickle, Ty Gibson as Sonny LaTierri, Sara Harris as Frenchy, Sarah Alexander as Sandy Dumbrowski, Philip Liessmann as Danny Zuko, Hunter Brown as Vince Fontaine, Holly VonEhwegen as Cha-Cha DiGregorio and Sam George as Teen Angel.
