An Estherville man is facing charges for allegedly making threats over the phone to an Emmet County dispatcher. Estherville police say 51-year-old Chris Anderson had called the Emmet County Law Enforcement office and made the threats on Sunday. Anderson was upset that police had been impounded his dog for running at large.

A short time later officers made contact with Anderson at the law enforcement center. He refused to sign the police citation and was subsequently arrested for control of animals and interference with official acts. The Emmet County Sheriff’s Office charged Anderson with one count of assault on a jailer and one count of assault on a peace officer.

Anderson was placed in the Emmet County Jail where he is being held on $1000 cash or surety bond.
