McCaulley looks forward to leadership role

By Staff | May 30, 2014

Dave McCaulley looks forward to his new position as Estherville Lincoln Central Middle School principal. He comes to ELC from Nevada High School where he was assistant principal.

“I’m looking forward to working with the kids and the staff here,” said McCaulley when contacted by phone this week, adding that he really felt a sense of belonging when he visited the school.

At Nevada McCaulley was athletic director and assistant principal. He looks forward to building positive relationships – adult to adult, adult to student and student to student.

And, he sees a primary responsibility as helping middle-level students find themselves. He also wants to stress a mantra of “continuous and constant improvement.”

McCaulley sees many similarities between ELC and Nevada, with numbers within 200 and similarity diversity.

“We’ve been experiencing the same thing,” said McCaulley. “I think we’re similar in a lot of ways.”

He also looks forward to building a positive relationship within everyone in the building.

“We’ve all got to work together toward a common goal,” McCaulley said.
