Black Knights plan Sweet Corn Days events
The Black Knights Car Club planned Sweet Corn Days events and other activities at the group’s monthly meeting Tuesday night at the VFW trophy room.
President Rod Ross said the group will use the American Muscle parking lot at 721 Central Ave. for registration which will be held from 10 a.m. to noon.
The car show will be held from noon to 3 p.m. along North Eighth Street and First Avenue North in Estherville, a change from the previous location on North Sixth Street next to Library Square. The move was needed to accommodate more Sweet Corn Days events.
There is a $10 registration fee with dash plaques to the first 100 entries and door prizes for registrants. Trophies will be awarded at 3 p.m. with trophies awarded to the top 25 entries by participant vote. Special awards include Mayor’s Choice, Best Mopar, Best Ford, Best GM, Best Truck and Best Paint.
Matt Stine, member and owner of American Muscle, said there will be a cruise on Friday, Aug. 1 in conjunction with Sweet Corn Days. The cruise-in will be from 6:30-10 p.m. in Library Square with a short cruise at 7:30.
The group meets at 7 p.m. the first Monday of every month at the VFW trophy room. New members are always welcome.
