Estherville, meet jiu jitsu
AJ Edwards teaches Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu a martial art created by Grandmasters Carlos and Helio Gracie.
Edwards said, “I eat, breathe, sleep and live Jiu-Jitsu. When I comes to self-defense I absolutely love helping people. It’s extremely difficult for me to put into words my passion for this.”
At the first class Edwards highlight the benefits of Jiu-Jitsu, from demonstrating the use of leverage and technique over strength to weight loss to confidence to defending yourself against bullies and self-defense.
The two classes had over 20 participants. The classes will meet Tuesdays and Thursdays, youth class at 5:30 p.m., women’s only class at 6:20 p.m. coed adult class at 7:30 p.m. at the RWC and the cost is $40 per month if you are an RWC member $60 if you are not a member.
Edwards has said, “It has taken me long time to figure out what it is in life I’m supposed to do and it’s definitely teaching Brazilian Jiu-jitsu.”
