Road crews prepare to clear out for harvest

By Staff | Sep 21, 2016

Walter Davis-Oeth, Emmet County engineer, reported to the Emmet County Board of Supervisors at Tuesday’s meeting that crews were working to restore the shoulders on county roads in time for harvest.

“We struggle a little, but we will get as much covered as we can before harvest. When we get close to harvest, we try to stay off the roads as much as possible,” Davis-Oeth said.

The board also set a public hearing date to change a Class B road to Class A road on 240th St. in Iowa Lake Township for Oct. 4 at 9:30 p.m.

Don Reffer of B&W Control Specialists also addressed the board on drainage ditch brush control.
