Early voting has begun

Early voting for the Nov. 8 general election begins today in Iowa.

Eligible voters can come to the Emmet County Auditor’s office and cast their vote during the following times:

8 am 4:30 pm, Monday thru Friday

8 am 5:00 pm Saturday, October 29, 2016

8 am 5:00 pm Friday, November 4, 2016

9 am 5:00 pm Saturday, November 5, 2016

There is a short form to fill out and you can cast your ballot. If you would like to print the form and have it ready when you get to the office, you can find the form at “https://sos.iowa.gov/elections/pdf/absenteeballotapp.pdf”>sos.iowa.gov/elections/pdf/absenteeballotapp.pdf

Click on the 2016 General Election Information at the bottom left of the home page and then click on Click here to find a Sample Ballot. The following Emmet County township offices and candidates will appear on the ballots in the specific townships:

Armstrong Grove Township Trustee (vote for no more than two)

Center Township Trustee (vote for no more than two)

Ron Klingbeil

Emmet Township Trustee (vote for no more than two)

Chris Snyder

Brad White

Iowa Lake Township Trustee (vote for no more than two)

Lincoln Township Trustee (vote for no more than two)
