Avera Holy Family Hospital earns honors on National Rural Health Day
Avera Holy Family Hospital was recognized as one of the 2016 top performers by the National Organization of State Office of Rural Health (NOSORH) and iVantage Health Analytics.
The announcement was made in conjunction with the Nov. 17 observance of National Rural Health Day. Avera Holy Family Hospital was honored as one of 29 rural Iowa hospitals to reach the top quartile for Excellence in Outcomes. It also earned recognition as one of 35 rural Iowa hospitals to reach the top tier in terms of Excellence in Patient Satisfaction.
Avera Holy Family Hospital was among the Top 100 Rural and Community Hospitals in addition to its annual recognition of the Top 100 Critical Access Hospitals. iVantage is a leading national provider of health care analytic and decision support tools, and this is the second year they have compiled the list of recognized hospitals.
Dale Hustedt, Avera Holy Family Hospital’s administrator, said the recognition goes to show the dedication his team shows, and the importance of Avera’s focus on rural health care services.
“To be among the top hospitals in terms of outcomes and patient satisfaction is a one-two punch of proof that our team is on the right path, and we’re proud of the hard work we put into our facility,” Hustedt said. “These honors are earned, and I credit our many employees for their selfless dedication and the way they constantly strive to improve the care they provide.”
The National Organization of State Offices of Rural Health (NOSORH) and iVantage recognize Iowa as having 102 hospitals reach top quartile performance status in Quality, Outcomes, Patient Satisfaction, and Financial Strength compared to all acute care hospitals in the nation.
The rankings have been determined through the Hospital Strength INDEX, the industry’s most objective and comprehensive assessment of rural hospital performance. In partnership with NOSORH, iVantage Health Analytics has developed this data-driven program to identify excellence across a broad spectrum of indicators relevant to hospital performance and patient care.
