City council meets tonight
The Estherville City Council will meet in regular session at 5 p.m., Monday, Jan. 16 in the council chambers at city hall.
Under old business, a public hearing will be held on the proposed revised city’s 2017 Zoning & Subdivision Regulations Code of Ordinances Volume II.
After the public hearing, the council will consider adopting the city’s 2017 Zoning & Subdivision Regulations Code of Ordinances Volume II.
Under new business, Iowa Lakes Corridor President and CEO will provide an update.
Council will be asked to approve sign permit applications submitted by Bob Houseman for property located at 102 S. First St. (S & R Auto and Tire); by North Iowa Lumber & Design for property located at 2303 Murray Road; and by Latin American Bar & Grill for property located at 710 Central Ave.
Council will consider approving a request from Marcia Huntsinger to continue employment beyond 70 years of age.
The council will consider an application requesting property tax exemption on improvements as defined by the city’s urban revitalization for several properties including commercial properties of Dakota Pack, Dr. Greg Williams and Stuart Johnson and six residential properties.
Council will consider approving a resolution authorizing the acceptance of the bid for property #15-HSG-012-G and #15-HSG-012-H as part of the Estherville Owner-Occupied Housing Rehabilitation Program.
Council will consider approving pay estimate #4 in the amount of $8,830, which includes the early release of partial retainage from Cory Juergens Construction for the North 20th Street Construction as part of the 2016 Street Improvements Project.
Council will consider a presentation by DGR Engineering for proposed improvements to the Wastewater Treatment Plant to achieve compliance with the City’s new NPDES permit.
