Warm February weekend sends many outdoors
Saturday’s temperatures soared to 57 degrees with mild breezes and sunny skies. Bicycles and motorcycles were unearthed from garages, playgrounds filled with the noise of children, outdoor chores were started, grills were fired up, horses had more riders, cars were clean, some for the first time since winter started, coats were shed, and much of the county stepped out for a breath of warm, spring wweather.
According to the National Weather Service, temps will reach the 60s today through Wednesday before tapering off to 40s and rain Thursday into Friday.
Also, later in the week, there is a chance that precipitation could lead to minor flooding in the Emmet County area. Gusty northwest winds are expected to develop on Friday. Hazardous travel impacts may be possible Thursday night into Friday night.
