Teen death under investigation
GRAETTINGER – The Palo Alto County Sheriff’s Office is continuing to investigate the death of Graettinger teen over the weekend.
At around 12:20 a.m., Sunday, the Palo Alto County Sheriff’s Office and Ambulance Service were dispatched to an unresponsive 16-year-old male laying in the road in the 600 block of North Walnut, Graettinger
The ambulance transported the male, identified as Noah Flaherty of Graettinger, to the Palo Alto County Hospital while resuscitation efforts were administered. Those efforts were unsuccessful and Flaherty was pronounced dead at the hospital.
Initial reports received indicate Flaherty fell from the rear of a vehicle while it was in motion. The specific circumstances and cause of death are being investigated.
Flaherty was a student at Graettinger-Terril/Ruthven-Ayrshire School. School officials say counselors will be available for students this week at the school.
Funeral services for Noah Flaherty will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Thursday at the Immaculate Conception Catholic Church in Graettinger.
A memorial fund has been established at BankPlus in Graettinger.
